A wide, wavy brim in woven bamboo rising to a cone, on a round wood ceiling cap and an adjustable cord — roughly a sun hat seen from below. The slope is the useful part: it aims light down onto a surface instead of spilling it sideways, which makes this the one in the range to hang over a table you actually eat at. Thirty centimetres across, so a single one covers a two-seater; a pair covers a long table.

Before you buy

This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and needs an existing ceiling box; have an electrician hang it if you are not comfortable working at one. The colour temperature is changed by switching the light off and on again at the wall, not by a remote. Bamboo is a dry-room material, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. Weave spacing and exact diameter vary a little from the photographs. The brim is wide: check clearance from cupboard doors before hanging it low in a kitchen.
