A conical woven bamboo hat sitting over a loose ball of rattan strands, on a round wood ceiling cap and an adjustable cord. It is the one two-part shade in the range: the hat above is tight and directional, the nest below is open and glowing, so it throws a pool of light down through the tangle and a soft wash up onto the hat. Just under thirty centimetres across and twenty-two tall.

Before you buy

This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and needs an existing ceiling box; have an electrician hang it if you are not comfortable working at one. The colour temperature is changed by switching the light off and on again at the wall, not by a remote. Bamboo is a dry-room material, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. Weave spacing and exact diameter vary a little from the photographs. The nest is loose by design; strand spacing varies from piece to piece and it is not a shape to hang where it will be brushed against.
