Why it earns its space.
A loose nest of bamboo sticks, so the light comes out in scattered points instead of a pattern.
Lengths of bamboo laid over one another in a loose, random weave and built up into a shallow nest — a wide bowl, open at the bottom, with stick ends left showing all the way round — hung on a black cord from a slim black canopy. Lit, the light escapes through hundreds of irregular gaps and lands on the ceiling and walls as scattered points rather than a repeating grid; unlit, it reads as a bird’s nest, textured and warm. At 30 cm across and 18 cm tall it is the widest piece in the range — a dining table, a kitchen island, or a living room where a woven grid would feel too orderly.

Why it works
- The random weave is the point: no two gaps are the same, so the light on the wall never repeats
- Wide and shallow, so it covers a table without hanging into the sightline across it
- Open at the base, so the surface underneath gets a direct pool of light as well as the scatter
- Stick ends left showing give it a texture a smooth weave does not have
- Warm and neutral when off, which is most of the day
Before you buy
This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and needs an existing ceiling box; have an electrician hang it if you are not comfortable working at one. No bulb is included — a warm 2700 K LED shows the weave best. Bamboo is a dry-room material, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. The weave is irregular by design, so stick placement, exact diameter and the look of the rim vary from piece to piece and from the photographs — more so than on the other pendants in the range.
