Woven bamboo built up in three rounded tiers — a small crown, a wide belly and a narrower skirt — hung on a black cord from a ceiling canopy. The steps are what set it apart from a single shade: lit, each tier throws its own ring of lattice onto the one below and out onto the wall, so the pattern arrives in bands rather than in one spread. Unlit, it reads as a stacked basket, warm and quiet. At 30 cm across and 30 cm tall it is the largest piece in the range — a dining table, a kitchen island, the middle of a living room, or one on its own over a round table.

Why it works

• The steps break the light into rings, so a single bulb reads as layered rather than flat

• Woven rather than slatted, so the lattice is fine and even
• Warm and neutral when off, which is most of the day

Before you buy

This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and needs an existing ceiling box; have an electrician hang it if you are not comfortable working at one. No bulb is included — a warm 2700 K LED shows the weave best. Bamboo is a dry-room material, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. Weave spacing and exact diameter vary a little from the photographs.
