A wide, low drum of vertical bamboo slats under a rounded slatted crown, on a round wood ceiling cap and an adjustable cord. Where the woven shades in the range throw a fine lattice, this one throws stripes: the slats are spaced, so the light comes out in bars that fan across the ceiling and walls. Thirty centimetres across and only twenty tall, it sits low over a table without dominating it.

Before you buy

This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and needs an existing ceiling box; have an electrician hang it if you are not comfortable working at one. The colour temperature is changed by switching the light off and on again at the wall, not by a remote. Bamboo is a dry-room material, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. Weave spacing and exact diameter vary a little from the photographs. It is a wide shade: check clearance from cupboard doors before hanging it low in a kitchen.
